How does it work?
Who are you?
I'm Nigel, and I founded The One Man Band Collective to provide couples with exceptional live wedding music across the UK. I personally perform many events, with a select group of trusted professional musicians available for busy weekends when I'm already booked. Every musician in our collective has years of wedding experience and shares my commitment to getting everyone on the dancefloor. I personally handle all bookings and will be there for you via phone, video call, or email - guaranteed quick replies and stress-free planning!
What do you do?
Our musicians are experts at getting the party going - reading the room and knowing when to play the right song and get everyone on the dancefloor! Our musicians use a mix of professional backing tracks, guitar loops and other musical tricks to create a full band sound your guests will love!
What happens between the live sets?
Between the live music a curated party playlist is provided to keep the party going. You're also very welcome to provide a device with your own playlist which we can connect via bluetooth or mini-jack. Nigel and many of our musicians can also provide a full, manned DJ service (taking requests between live sets) for an additional £200. Please ask for details!

What kind of songs do you play?
Our musicians have a vast repertoires of songs and a deep well of experience to put together a set list that will have ALL AGES on the dancefloor. You are of course welcome to have input into the song choices too, though we do recommend you allow us some flexiblity to put our expertise to use for you!
Which musician will I have?
It depends upon location and availability and we'll usually be able to let you know upon booking. You can rest assurred that all the musicians in our collective are of the same elite, professional standard.
What if my musician falls ill or cancels?
Our musicians pride themselves on their work and are extremely reliable and we've never had a musician cancel for any reason. However, one of the strenghts of being in a collective is that if someone did break their finger the night before, we have a pool of superb musicians to replace them and do a fantastic job for you.
Can you learn and play our first dance?
Yes ! As long as it's a song which suits our range/vocal style and we feel we can do a really good version of it for you, we can do that at no extra cost. Of course, sometimes it's the recording itself which has special meaning to a couple, in which case we can source the track and play that for you before kicking off our first set.
At what kind of venue can you play?
ANY! While we often play at large venues, we're also perfect for when space is limited but you still want live music and a real musician interating with the crowd. We'll ideally need 2x2 metres (6x6 feet) and have never encountered a venue we weren't able to play in!

What about timings?
You'll have your musician for five hours inclusive in the price, with set-up roughly an hour before. We're very flexible on set timings within that and can play at your pre-arragned times in the night or play it by ear. Early arrival, extra time beyond the five hours or staying beyond midnight can usually be arranged at £50 per hour.
Can you provide music for our ceremony and at afternoon drinks?
Yes! Our full afternoon package is £350 and covers music for your aisle walk, signing and exit (live or recorded) followed by an afternoon acoustic set to elegantly warm up your guests over drinks and canapes. If you don't require ceremony music, the afternoon acoustic set is also available at £220.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance and is your equipment PAC tested?
Yes - all of our musicians have these documents which we can send to you or the venue directly on request.
Do you need to be fed?
Yes please! We often have to set off from home early in the afternoon to reach you and it's a long day, so we do ask that for all performances (e.g., weddings, birthdays, corporate events), you provide a proper meal to give us the energy and focus we need to give you the best possible performance. But you don't have to allocate wedding breakfasts/party dinners for us - we're happy with any kind of hot meal (something more substantial than a cold buffet or sandwiches and chips!) which most venues are happy to provide.
A private supply of water or soft drinks is also much appreciated.
“We thoroughly recommend The One Man Band Collective! Nigel was brilliant - his live music sets were full of crowd pleasers and were performed fantastically. Nigel engaged with our guests, was flexible on the night, and kept the party going with his DJ sets. Everyone said how amazing he was! ” - Rebecca KA.
